Town vacancies filled

Colleen M. O’Brien was named to fill a vacancy on the Conservation Commission by the Board of Selectmen at its meeting on April 19.

O’Brien is a preschool teacher at Create Learning Center and a fitness instructor/lifestyle coach at Riverbrook Regional YMCA in Wilton. She is also one of three founding members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and has been a volunteer since 2005. She also served as a town constable from 2005 to 2013. She was recommended by the Democratic Town Committee.

She is a graduate of Elon University.

At its meeting on April 4, the board appointed Mandi Schmauch and Keith Fordsman to the Miller-Driscoll Building Committee.

With a background in real estate, Fordsman is vice president of capital investment for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Stamford. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from City College of New York and holds a professional license as a certified general contractor in Florida.

Schmauch is a district business manager for Novo Nordisk of Fairfield and New Haven counties. She has one child in Miller-Driscoll School and one at Cider Mill has been a member of the MIller-Driscoll FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) committee and the project’s parent committee. She earned a bachelor of arts degree from the College of William and Mary.
