The Wilton Finance Department has received a certificate of achievement from the Government Finance Offices Association of the United States and Canada for excellence in financial reporting.
First Selectman Bill Brennan presented certificates to Chief Financial Officer Sandy Dennies and Controller Richard McArdle at the Board of Selectmen meeting on Aug. 3.
He noted this was the second time the finance department received the honor.
“It’s a great award, a great accomplishment,” said Brennan. “This is not an easy task to be doing all this.”
Brennan read comments from the Government Finance Offices Association.
“The certificate achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its members.”
“So again, guys, great job, and thanks,” he added.
