Board of Assessment Appeals alternates sought
With the town of Wilton anticipating a larger than normal number of assessment appeals due to revaluation, the Board of Selectmen is seeking to appoint alternates to the Board of Assessment Appeals.
The appeals board has three members. Candidates with a financial background are preferred. Those interested in serving would ideally be available to attend hearings throughout April, according to First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice.
A training session will be held in late March. Appeal hearings are scheduled at a time that is agreeable to the individual filing the appeal and members of the board. Not every member needs to attend every hearing.
Interested candidates affiliated with either the Democratic or Republican parties, should contact their town committee. Interested candidates not affiliated or affiliated with another party may either petition directly to the Board of Selectmen or contact either town committee.
