Students from Wilton High School’s German and music classes spent a day in New York City on Jan. 3. The day started with a hearty lunch at the Heidelberg Restaurant, one of the oldest German family-run restaurants in the United States, followed by a visit to Rockefeller Center to see German-American toy store FAO Schwarz, the Austrian Swarovski crystal atop the Rockefeller tree, and window-shop Swiss stores. Students then made their way to the Metropolitan Opera House to see Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Wilton High School German teacher Christine Higgins, left, is joined by students Alex Killian, Juliana Fastiggi, Lukas Witzke, Edwin Gregory, Jordan Huff, Eric Jonan, Aki Lasher, Fiona Lenfest, Helen Cherichetti, Bronwyn Walsh, Cameron Cagenello, Everett Lee, Devin Moran, Aiden Duff, Esteban Melendez and Anna Iorfino, and orchestra teacher Malcolm Karlan. — Contributed photo
