At the request of Wilton High School Principal Robert O’Donnell, the Board of Education approved Saturday, June 23, as the date of Wilton High School’s 60th annual graduation exercises.
“We had our first graduation meeting with students on Wednesday. They’re excited,” O’Donnell said during the board’s April 5 meeting.

“We’ve got some good student leadership behind the planning and we’re ready to honor them."

O’Donnell told The Bulletin approximately 320 seniors are expected to graduate this June.

Education board member Lory Rothstein asked what a June 23 graduation date means for seniors considering the last day of school for Wilton public school students has been pushed to June 27, as a result of weather-related closings this school year.

O’Donnell replied that he and Superintendent Kevin Smith will figure that out once they get “a little bit more information from an outside source.”

Board member Laura Schwemm, who graduated from Wilton High School in 1983, noted that her class graduated “probably two weeks” before the school year officially ended.
