Approximately 100 young jazz musicians from Fairfield County are expected to assemble for the 42nd annual Wilton High School Jazz Symposium in the Little Theater on Friday, Feb. 23.

The symposium will consist of two sessions — the first beginning at 3:30 and the second at 6:45.

Wilton High School Jazz Bands I and II will be joined by student musicians from high schools in Fairfield, Norwalk, Stamford and Weston.

There will also be a special guest performance at 8:45 by the Berkshire Jazz Orchestra, a regional jazz group of active performers and educators from all over Fairfield County.

“Our region is ripe with quality jazz music and jazz education and we are honored to host so many outstanding student bands from the local area,” said Wilton High School Band Director Nick Loafman.

“I’m looking forward to an evening of great performances.”

The symposium is free event, but donations to support Wilton High School music programs are appreciated.
