Wilton High School’s art department is seeking art submissions from former students to be in its first-ever alumni art show this May.
“It’s a celebration of artists and their careers, and the main objective is to recognize our talented alumni who have gone off to college and now have art careers,” said Rusty Hurd, head of the art department.
“There’s a number of them all over the country. We have some pretty heavy-hitters. Our kids have done extremely well in the arts.”
Hurd said she has already reached out to some alumni but is looking for more to fill the Zellner Gallery.
The art department will curate the show, said Hurd, and alumni will need to submit their artwork by the week of April 11.
While digital submissions could be acceptable, she said, original physical works of art are preferred.
An opening reception for the alumni art show will likely take place in the Zellner Gallery on May 12, said Hurd, and the exhibit will run through May 27.
Alumni interested in having their art displayed in the show may contact Hurd at hurdr@wilton.k12.ct.us or 203-762-0381, ext. 6042.
