Each year, the Wilton Education Association (WEA) awards the Robert E. Gallagher Memorial Scholarship, along with additional scholarships for children of WEA members who are pursuing their undergraduate degrees.

On Tuesday, May 24, WEA President Andrew Nicsaji awarded WEA scholarships at Middlebrook School to two of this year’s three recipients.

Ava Gallo, who was unable to attend the check presentation, received this year’s Robert E. Gallagher Memorial Scholarship. The daughter of Cider Mill teacher Tim Gallo, Ava will be graduating from Trumbull High School in June and attending Northeastern University this fall.

The two other students to receive WEA scholarships were Ashley Young and Mary Grace Burdick.

Ashley is the daughter of Miller-Driscoll teacher Angela Young. She will be graduating from Bunnell High School in Stratford this June and attending either the University of Connecticut, University of Massachusetts, or American University in the fall.

Mary is the daughter of Miller-Driscoll teacher Maureen Burdick. She will be graduating from Trumbull High School this June and attending Eastern Connecticut State University this fall.
