Students who have received less than satisfactory scores on the math portion of the SAT or PSAT have an option to improve with SAT workshops for students in ninth through 12th grade this summer at Trackside Teen Center.

Larry Shiller, a Wilton resident, and the creator of the award-winning math system ShillerMath and founder of the Rising Stars Foundation, will offer a program using Socratic and Montessori-based methods to “delve deep into the core material and to promote quality thinking that often helps students with subjects other than math,” according to a press release.

Mr. Shiller, who graduated from MIT with a degree in math, scored 800 on his own math SAT.

Each math SAT workshop lasts one week and consists of four two-hour sessions Monday through Thursday. There are classes available in July and August. The cost per eight-hour workshop is $225. A limited number of spots are available.
