During Our Lady of Fatima School’s fifth annual Saints Walkathon on Friday, Oct. 13, students and staff walked a mile around the school and parish grounds to raise money to support hurricane relief efforts in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Ten percent of funds raised through the walk-a-thon will go towards rebuilding efforts on the islands of St. John, St. Thomas and St. Croix, which were devastated by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria last month. The rest of the money will go towards supporting and enhancing the nonprofit Catholic school’s academic program.
As of Wednesday, Oct. 18, Our Lady of Fatima had raised $3,850 of its $20,000 goal. The fund-raiser ends Friday, Oct. 27.
