Wilton High School will host its ninth annual head-shaving fund-raiser Tuesday, March 13, to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in raising awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer.

Since its founding in 2000, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has raised more than $50 million with more than 390,000 heads shaved in 18 countries. Last year’s fund-raiser at Wilton High School raised more than $26,000.

Faculty adviser Dan Pompa is spearheading this year’s event, along with a committee of eight students — co-presidents Johnny Maggio and Kyle Shifrin, Patrick Verrilli, Owen McKessy, Ryan Ettie, Michael Hueghlin, Christian Weber and Dom Polit.

Anyone interested in having their head shaved must register online at stbaldricks.org by Feb. 22.

Wilton High School students interested in participating should email Pompa at pompad@wiltonps.org or one of the student organizational team co-presidents at 18maggioj@wiltonps.org or 18shifrink@wiltonps.org.

Donations can also be made by visiting stbaldricks.org and searching “Wilton High School.”

Wilton High School’s St. Baldrick’s event will take place in the school’s cafeteria. The snow date is March 15.
