Rising Wilton High School senior Grace Schaller has been named a 2016 Rensselaer Medalist by the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.

Since 1916, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has presented medals to “promising secondary school juniors who have distinguished themselves in mathematics and science,” according to the school’s admissions office.

As a medalist, Grace would receive a minimum $25,000 yearly merit scholarship from the school if she later enrolls and her application fee would be waived.

Grace has been invited to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Rensselaer Medalist Celebration in September, which is an open house exclusively for medalists.
