Our Lady of Fatima School in Wilton relived the Civil War on Friday, April 8, when Second Connecticut Regiment of Volunteers Heavy Artillery re-enactor Capt. Victor Scalora portrayed Wilton Civil War soldier Samuel G. DeForest and conducted a hands-on, interactive history workshop with the entire student body. He talked about the types of food soldiers ate, how they bartered with jelly beans, and even fired a real Civil War-era replica musket.
