Paley, Sanzo and Post leave school district at the end of the year
Human Resources and General Administration Director Susan Paley, Wilton High School Associate Principal Rich Sanzo and Financial Planning and Operations Director Ken Post will not be with the Wilton school district next school year, Superintendent Kevin Smith announced at the Board of Education’s May 12 meeting.
Paley, who became the district’s human resources director in 2014 , will retire at the end of the school year.
Maria Coleman will leave her position as principal of Middlebrook School at the end of June to become the district’s new human resources director.
Sanzo was recently appointed as the new principal of New Fairfield High School.
“It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell,” said Smith, “but we also wish him the very best as he takes the next step in his own career.”
Sanzo thanked “everybody here in Wilton” for the “amazing five years” he’s had working in the school district.
“I’ve grown so much individually as a professional and I hope I’ve helped move the schools forward,” said Sanzo, who served as Wilton High School’s assistant principal from 2011 to 2013, according to his LinkedIn.
“I look forward to continuing that work in New Fairfield,” said Sanzo, “but know that this community — this school system — right now is already great, but it’s at the precipice of being greater.”
After 14 years in the school district, Post has offered to resign as the district’s financial planning and operations director, effective June 30.
“He’s ready for a change,” said Smith, “and we wish him the best and want to thank him for his many years of dedicated service to Wilton.”
