Middlebrook raises $3,890 for children

Middlebrook School raised $3,890 for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) during its annual community service project bake sale on Nov. 17.
“The bake sale is an important tradition for the students and staff,” said special education teacher Tanya Leonard. “We work in close collaboration with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to spread holiday joy to the local foster care children.”
The school collected baked goods Nov. 16-22, and the funds raised from the sale were turned into gifts cards and given to DCF.
“They use part of the cards for holiday gifts,” said Leonard, “and the other half is given to families throughout the year to purchase anything a foster family may need to provide for their foster child.”
