Middlebrook culinary arts teacher Heather Priest was named Outstanding Green Teacher 2015 by Wilton Go Green for her work in leading the middle school’s efforts to become a CT Greenleaf School, building and maintaining its organic garden and restructuring its family and consumer science courses to focus on wellness, healthy living and sustainability.

Priest was one of two teachers to propose the new Sustainable Living: Garden to Table course, which was offered at Middlebrook for the first time this school year and teaches sixth graders about sustainable living through gardening and food preparation.

Wilton Go Green was created by a group of citizens eager to engage the Wilton community in sustainable initiatives. According to its website, Wilton Go Green's goal is “to develop a wide range of sustainable initiatives in cooperation with the town and other area nonprofits.”
