In one of the largest single gifts the Board of Selectmen has seen this year, the Wilton Education Foundation has donated $40,000 toward the construction of a horticultural greenhouse to be located in the courtyard of Middlebrook School.

The gift was unanimously approved and accepted.

“This has been planned for several years,” said Chris Burney, the school and town facilities director.

He said the greenhouse will not be accessible to the public, only to students of the school.

The total cost is $52,000 and it will be built in the coming months.
