Gnick the Gnome returns to Cider Mill
Cider Mill School’s “resident gnome,” Gnick, has arrived early this year.
On Jan. 10, Gnick the Gnome was spotted in the school’s north side courtyard, which is where he “lives,” according to third grade teacher Annie Lewis.
Gnick first made his appearance last year, when fifth grade teacher Trish Howell put him in the courtyard on the first day of spring.
“Everyday, she’d moved him around in different places and scenarios — you could even invite him to spend a day in your room,” said Lewis.
“She put a little mailbox near the door, and notes can be sent to him and he ‘answers’ on a big chart in the hall.”
Lewis said students come to school “excited to see what he’s up to.”
