Floyd named economics fellow
Wilton resident and 2018 Wilton High School graduate Taylor Floyd was one of 20 students selected as 2018-2019 Economics Management Fellows at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
The four-year fellowships are awarded to first-year students by the university’s economics department and Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship.
To be considered for the fellowship program, prospective students must:
- Indicate an interest in studying economics, business administration management, marketing, finance, accounting, or international business on their Ohio Wesleyan applications;
- Have high school records and/or SAT or ACT scores that indicate a potential for high achievement at Ohio Wesleyan; and
- Complete personal interviews with Ohio Wesleyan’s economics department faculty.
Fellows receive academic advisers, sophomore or junior peer-mentors, and are later paired with professional mentors. They also go on a fully paid, faculty-escorted study trip to New York City in the spring, during which they visit the New York Federal Reserve and New York Stock Exchange, as well as meetings with distinguished Ohio Wesleyan alumni and professionals in business and government.
