Board postpones school calendar vote

The Board of Education decided during its Nov. 9 meeting to postpone voting on the 2018-19 school calendar in order to gain more input from school district employees.

The proposed calendar was discussed during the board’s Oct. 26 meeting.

If approved as is, the first day of school for Wilton public school students would be Tuesday, Sept. 4, and the last day would be Friday, June 14.

The proposed calendar also includes the scheduling of most professional learning days for the end of August in order to allow for more instructional time during the school year.

The Board of Education’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Wilton High School Professional Library.
