A computer virus that is being transmitted through video links on Facebook is leading unsuspecting users to a child pornography site.

According to a report on the WFSB website, the incidents are of such a concern that several school districts are warning parents to be vigilant of their children’s use of the social media site.

Wilton police have not reported any complaints, but school superintendents and police in Farmington, Avon, Simsbury, Rocky Hill, and Hartford have sent warning letters to parents, according to WFSB. The video is also believed to have shown up in New Britain.

According to reports, the virus is contained in a Facebook message from a friend who wants to share a video clip. When the Facebook user clicks on it, the pornographic video shows up. Once the video is opened, the virus is automatically sent to that user’s Facebook friends.
