Snow, sleet, freezing rain for Tuesday night

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Wilton and most of southern Connecticut. The advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, until 10 Wednesday morning.

Tuesday's forecast calls for a chance of snow, mainly after 3 p.m., with increasing clouds. The high will be around 27, with wind chill values between 10 and 20.

Tuesday night, snow and sleet are expected before midnight, then freezing rain between midnight and 2 a.m., then freezing rain. The temperature is expected to rise to 32 by 3 a.m., but the wind chill will make it feel like 20 to 25. One to three inches of snow and sleet is possible, with some ice.

Wednesday brings a chance of rain, otherwise cloudy with a high near 38. The chance of precipitation is 50%.

Snow — two to four inches — is possible early Thursday morning.
