After a hiatus of two years, Wilton’s scarecrow fest will return this fall in the town center.

Presented by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Trackside Teen Center, the Town of Wilton, Parks and Recreation Department, and Department of Public Works, the scarecrow fest will run from Oct. 14 through Oct. 31.

Scarecrow kits may be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce at 86 Old Ridgefield Road, or on the chamber website at wiltonchamber.com. The cost of the kit is $30 and includes the wooden post and hay to build the scarecrow.

Registration and payment must be received by the chamber by Sept. 30. Kits may be picked up Oct. 3-7 at Trackside, from 10 to 4 only.

Finished scarecrows must be delivered to Trackside on Oct. 12 or 13 only, from 10 to 4. The scarecrows will be put up in the center of town on Friday, Oct. 14, where they will remain until Oct. 31.

“We are very excited to bring back the scarecrow fest this year,” Mark Ketley, chamber board president, said in a press release. “The scarecrow fest enhances our Halloween walk and trick or treat parade, Halloween hustle 5K and Scarecrow Scamper for kids, scheduled for Oct. 29 and 30.
