Run for The Center at the SONO Half Marathon & 5K
The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education will be running as a charity team on Oct. 15 at the 2nd annual SONO Half/5K in Norwalk.
The first 30 people who join The Center’s team to help reach their fundraising goal of $15,000 will get free registration to the SONO Half/5K.
Each team member is asked to set a goal of raising $500 by Oct. 15. Tom Renner, friend of The Center, and veteran runner, raised more than $5K last year.
The first three runners to raise $500 will get a free training plan and a practice run by veteran runner Tom Renner.
Support will allow The Center to continue providing counseling and advocacy services to victims of sexual assault as well as sexual violence prevention education throughout Lower Fairfield County. Last fiscal year, The Center served more than 17,000 individuals through its programs.
