Area SAT exam canceled due to storm forecast

UPDATE, 4:30 p.m. — Wilton schools have canceled all activities for Saturday, Jan. 24, including the SAT, which has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7.

Tales to Tails at Wilton Library on Saturday has also been canceled. Minecraft Club will meet, unless the library closes.

2:20 p.m. — Wilton students planning to take the SAT exam in Weston Saturday, Jan. 24, will have to pick another date. With the forecast of an impending storm tonight, Weston Public Schools have canceled the exam.

A winter weather advisory for a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is in effect from midnight tonight to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The forecast calls for snow tonight, mainly after midnight, with an accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. The heaviest snow, likely mixed with sleet and freezing rain, will be Saturday morning through the afternoon, tapering off in the evening.

The high on Saturday is expected to be near 30 degrees, but with a north wind of 7 to 13 mph, the wind chill will be between 25 and 30. Saturday night the low will be around 24.

Sunday is expected to be clear and partly sunny, but with winds gusting as high as 21 mph. There is another chance of snow on Monday.
