Fresh off their Nov. 9-22 crackdown on distracted driving, Wilton Police, between Nov. 20 and 30, will be ticketing all who drive unbuckled. According to a press release, officers will be patrolling Connecticut roads enforcing the state\u2019s Occupant Protection Program, a Department of Transportation initiative missioned to maintain safety belt use rates at a level that is consistently above the national average. \u201cWith the 2015 Thanksgiving Day holiday fast approaching, the Wilton Police Department intends to promote safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists,\u201d the press release said. \u201cNo excuses. Buckle up. It\u2019s the law. It\u2019s enforced. Click it or ticket!\u201d The Occupant Protection Program has resulted in steady, gradual increases in safety belt use in Connecticut over the \u201cpast several years,\u201d the 2012 Connecticut Highway Safety Annual Report indicated.
