Wiltonian arrested for stabbing son in the back

A 53-year-old Wilton man was arrested around 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, for allegedly stabbing his 18-year-old son at their Wilton home. The son, who was taken to Norwalk Hospital, did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

At the scene, Wilton police officers found the son outside with a blood stain on the back of his shirt and his father inside the home.

An investigation revealed that a disagreement between the father and son began in the kitchen and proceeded into the den, where the father threw multiple knives at — but did not strike — his son.

But when the son hid behind a couch to shield himself, his father reached over and stabbed him in the back with a knife.

The accused then gathered the knives he had thrown, as well as the knife he used to stab his son, and concealed them in his bedroom closet prior to police arrival, according to the police report.

Police arrested and charged him with first-degree assault and tampering with evidence. He is being held on a $100,000 bond and will be arranged at Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 22.
