Wilton woman kicks police during DUI arrest

While being arrested for driving under the influence, police say a Wilton woman kicked a police officer and tried to shut her car door on him.
Elizabeth Blum, 38, of Silver Spring Road was arrested Friday, April 10, for driving under the influence and disorderly conduct after a tire fell off of her car while she was on Kent Road around 9 p.m. She told police she was on her way home from a tire store at the time of the arrest.
A bystander called police to report Blum’s situation after he attempted to help the woman and found her speech to be slurred.
Another witness in the area told police Blum had verbally assaulted him and slammed her fist on his car hood when he attempted to help her.
When police arrived, they found Blum to be uncooperative and, at times, violent. She kicked one officer and tried to shut her car door on one, as well.
She refused to submit to a breath analysis, and was arrested for driving under the influence and disorderly conduct.
She was released on a promise to appear, and is due in court on Monday, April 20.
