Wilton police report — Thief steals the doors off a car

Two car doors, a coat and spare change were reported stolen from a 2014 Honda Accord on March 29 at 7:50 p.m. at the Wilton train station, 7 Station Road.

The complainant said he arrived back to his vehicle after getting off the train and found the doors were missing.

The incident is under investigation as a larceny. It matches reported incidents in surrounding towns, police said.
Car stolen
Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle reported March 26 at 5:12 p.m. at 24 Wilton Hunt.

The car, a 2004 Lexus RX 330, was seen picking up occupants of another stolen vehicle involved in an accident in Waterbury. Waterbury police contacted the owner, and when she realized her car had been stolen she reported it.

The incident is under investigation.
A 57-year-old Wilton woman was charged with driving under the influence March 30 on Drum Hill Road after she was involved in a minor two-car crash.

Upon investigation of the accident, police suspected she was possibly under the influence and administered the field sobriety test.

Lori Giglia, of 2 Silver Spring Road, was released on $250 bond and will appear in court April 10. She was also charged with following too closely.
Evading responsibility
A Wilton woman was charged with evading responsibility March 27 at 8 p.m. on Deerfield Road.

After a report of a car crashing into a street sign, it was found that the vehicle left the scene before police arrived. The vehicle was found in the driveway of the owner’s home with front-end damage. Pieces left at the scene matched up with the vehicle.

Police said Kathryn Ford, 31, of 10 Fairfax Avenue, Wilton, will appear in court April 6.
