Wilton police log: Nail salon disturbance, marijuana, car accident

Nail salon disturbance

A New York man was arrested for breach of peace June 12 after a dispute went physical, police said.

Ren Longnan, 33, of 14016 34th Avenue, Queens, was irritated by another driver while traveling to Wilton via Route 7 around 10 a.m. According to police, both cars were “delivering employees to competing nail salons in Wilton Center,” and the drivers knew each other.

Police said Longnan knew where the other car was headed — Good Morning Nail Salon at 42 Old Ridgefield Road — and went there first, in an attempt to tell the other driver’s boss how he had been driving.

“When the second vehicle arrived, an argument ensued,” police said. “At some point,” Longnan “kicked and knocked down the victim,” causing a laceration to his head.

The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, and Longnan was issued a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace, with a court date of June 22.

Commuter lot pot

Police caught a Wilton man with marijuana and drug paraphernalia June 9.

A patrol officer spotted the man sitting in the driver's seat of a car parked in the commuter lot at the intersection of Danbury and Wolfpit roads around 8 p.m.

While patrolling the lot, the officer saw the man “reaching down underneath the steering wheel while moving back and forth vigorously enough to visibly shake the vehicle back and forth.”

The officer approached the car and saw marijuana in plain view. The man was “sitting inside of his vehicle sorting through plastic bags of marijuana stuffed into a glass mason jar that was sitting in his lap,” police said.

A subsequent search revealed an herb grinder and a smoking pipe. Ultimately, the man was issued a $286 fine for possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

School Street accident

A two-car accident on School Street in Georgetown June 13 sent one party to the hospital.

A 2000 Honda Accord was westbound on School Street around 4 p.m. when a 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser was attempting to make a left turn out of the Shell Station at the corner of School Street and Danbury Road onto School Street.

The Toyota collided head-on with the Honda, which was shifting from the center to the left lane at the time.

The driver of the Honda complained of pain in his forehead and was taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation.

The driver of the Toyota was issued an infraction for failure to grant right of way from a private driveway.
