Wilton man arrested for risk of injury to a minor
Police arrested a 30-year-old Wilton man for risk of injury to a minor on April 20 after he and a 15-year-old were found together in a car behind Starbucks.
Garrett Stephen Albright, of 323a Belden Hill Road, was parked in his 2013 Subaru Legacy at the rear of 21 River Road when an officer observed “suspicious activity” during routine patrol, police said.
"The two occupants were reclined in their seats. When the officer's vehicle approached, they returned their seats to the proper position," police said.
The officer then approached the car because it's rear license plate was obstructed, and learned that Albright, the driver, was 30 years of age, while his passenger was 15.
Albright was found in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana, and through the investigation it was learned that he had “provided/smoked” it with the teen, police said.
“The accused stated he met the juvenile on a dating app called Grindr,” police said. Police would not disclose the gender of the teen.
Albright was charged with risk of injury to a minor, possession of under a half-ounce of marijuana, and an illegible license plate.
Albright was taken into custody and released after posting a $5,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on April 29, and his arraignment is set for May 12.
There is an open, subsequent investigation at this time, police said.
