After running the plate of a 2004 Subaru Legacy seen rolling through the intersection of Olmstead Hill and Hulda Hill roads around midnight Jan. 11, a Wilton patrol officer learned its registration had expired.

After stopping the Subaru, the officer smelled marijuana inside. A vehicle search was conducted, and a “four-inch marijuana roach” along with a plastic bag containing approximately 0.23 ounce of marijuana were recovered and seized.

The driver of the Subaru was issued an infraction for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to carry proof of insurance. He was released from the scene.
