A contractor’s truck containing landscaping equipment parked at 26 Clover Drive was “completely destroyed” by fire on March 18.
According to Fire Chief Ron Kanterman, the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

“We’re waiting for the fire marshal to show up to do an investigation,” Kanterman said on-location Friday.

Wilton Fire Department got the dispatch call around 4 p.m.

When fire engines arrived at the scene minutes later, the landscaping truck, which belongs to a Norwalk landscaping, masonry and design contractor called DeMilo Bros., was completely engulfed with flames.

Fire Engine No. 1 was the first to arrive, Kanterman said. “Engine No. 1 stretched the first hose line, started putting the fire out, and then Engine No. 2 came to assist.”

The blaze was knocked down before 4:30 p.m. “Nobody got hurt,” Kanterman said, but the truck was “completely destroyed.”
