A brush fire near 41 Briardale Place, that broke out during the afternoon of Nov. 9, grew to cover an area of 900 square feet before being extinguished by the Wilton Fire Department.
According to Fire Marshal Rocco Grosso, two engines and one tanker responded, and firefighters used a handline to douse the blaze.
The Weston Fire Department assisted by sending a truck to cover headquarters while Wilton firefighters were at the scene.
Over emergency response scanners, it was heard that a “possible accelerant” was found at the site.
The fire was noted in the Wilton police blotter, but a police spokesman declined to disclose specific information and would not confirm a possibility of arson, citing the case was “juvenile in nature” and “still under investigation.”
Grosso withheld certain information for similar reasons.
