State police investigate 4 fatalities this holiday weekend

There were 351 accidents, 19 DUIs and four fatalities on Connecticut roadways this holiday weekend, according to Connecticut State Police's Dec. 23-26 statistics.

Of the 351 investigated accidents, 42 were with injury and four were fatal. The fatalities occurred in Old Saybrook, Bethany, Bolton and East Hartford.

State police also issued 313 speeding tickets, nine seatbelt violations and 729 hazardous moving violations, which include unsafe lane changes, following too close, cell phone usage and failure to signal.

Connecticut State Police will continue operating roving patrols and conducting DUI checkpoints through Jan. 3.
