Police arrest Wilton man for intent to sell drugs
Police arrested a Wilton man Friday for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.
On March 25 around 2 a.m., a car was stopped on Ridgefield Road near Center Street for swerving.
The driver, Peter Russo, 26, of 419 Belden Hill Road, was found to have been driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, police said.
Searching the vehicle, officers found marijuana packaged for sale, “equipment associated with the sale of controlled substances,” and $960 cash.
Police said Russo was charged with possession of greater than four ounces of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, and failure to drive right.
Russo was taken into custody, processed, and released after posting a $2,500 bond.
He is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on April 4.
