Probation violation A 36-year-old Redding woman was charged Oct. 17 at 2:36 a.m. with violation of probation and improper number of headlights on Danbury Road while driving a 2002 Cadillac Escalade. Police said the operator was stopped on a motor vehicle violation because a headlight was out and a check showed there was an active warrant out of Norwalk for a probation violation. Mayce Smith, of 45 Seventy Acres Road, Redding, was held on $30,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 17. Driving without a license A 28-year-old Danbury man was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license and was given a ticket for drinking in a vehicle Oct. 15 at 4:25 p.m. in the parking lot of Caraluzzi\u2019s supermarket on Danbury Road. Claudio Yanza, of 53 Pleasant Street, Danbury, was released on a promise to appear in court Oct. 24. Police said there was a complaint about a vehicle driving slowly and swerving all over the road. The operator was found in the parking lot of Caraluzzi\u2019s. An open beer container was spotted in the Nissan Versa. He said he was picking up his wife and had two drinks. He passed the field breath test but his wife was made to drive home as a precaution. The Wilton Police Department had no calls of domestic violence or domestic verbal disputes the week of Oct. 12 to Oct. 18.
