Forgery and larceny
A 37-year-old Bridgeport man was charged with sixth-degree larceny and forgery Nov. 22 at 1:10 p.m. after he was involved in a car crash off Route 195 in which he was found to have a Wilton arrest warrant from 2011.
Nechtali Lara, of 205 Savoy Street, Bridgeport, posted $5,000 bond and has a court date of Dec. 1.
He was accused of stealing checks, forging a signature and cashing checks belonging to a Wilton resident. Also, $4,000 was missing from an unsecured safe.
A Ridgefield man was charged with reckless driving after his Audi was discovered off the roadway partially lodged in a stone wall.
According to police, Jerome Penn, 41, of 22 Comstock Court, Ridgefield, said he had been working long hours and fell asleep behind the wheel. He walked away from the accident and police had to locate him. He said he would make plans to remove the vehicle in the morning.
The driver was issued a misdemeanor summons with a court date of Dec. 5.
The Wilton Police Department responded to two calls for domestic verbal incidents during the week of Nov. 22 to Nov. 29.
