Drugs


A 27-year-old Vermont man was charged with possession of narcotics and related charges Aug. 8, at 9:45 a.m. on Route 33 near Belden Hill Road.

Police said Aaron Montgomery, of Springfield, Vt., was swerving all over the road and was the subject of a motor vehicle complaint. When his parked car was located, he waved his arms to get attention, said he was lost, and gave police a false name, but his true identity was learned a short time later. He was searched and found to have a variety of drugs including pain killers and Valium, which were not prescribed to him. He was charged with interfering, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating without a license, possession of controlled substances, and illegal storage of drugs. He was also charged with failure to stay in the proper lane and possession of drug paraphernalia, for a couple of small spoons that contained powder residue and burn marks.

He was held on $15,000 bond pending court the same day.

Asleep at the wheel drunk


A 22-year-old New Milford man was charged with driving under the influence Aug. 5 at 12:50 a.m. on Route 7 near School Road.

Police said Corey Boudreau, of 198 Beard Drive, New Milford, was released on $260 bond pending court Aug. 15.

He was seen asleep behind the wheel with the engine running, with his foot on the brakes. When an officer knocked on his window, the car accelerated forward and backwards and the driver fell back asleep. He was later to be found under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Minor with alcohol


A 16-year-old Stamford resident was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor Aug. 5, at 11:45 p.m., on Ridgefield Road near Drum Hill Road.

Police said the teen was a passenger in a a 2004 Mazda 3x and there was an odor of alcohol at a traffic stop for a driver’s side tail light. It was determined all the people in the car were under the age of 18 and that the beer belonged to him. He was issued an infraction and released to the custody of his parents.

Car crash


The Wilton Fire Department was called to extricate a woman from her car Aug. 3 at 3:09 a.m. on Drum Hill Road after her car drove off the road onto a grassy area and rolled over

after striking a tree. Police said the 19-year-old Wilton resident was taken to Norwalk Hospital with minor injuries. She was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. She received a ticket for reckless driving.

False statement


A 64-year-old Wilton man turned himself in to police Aug. 2 at 10:03 p.m. at police headquarters on a warrant for second-degree making a false statement. He had allegedly had not disclosed on a pistol permit application that he had once been arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The arrest occurred in 1979 in Texas.

Robert Howard Pollak, of 60 Valeview Road, was released on $5,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 12.

Possible burglary


Police are investigating a possible burglary over the weekend reported at the Wilton Laundromat on Danbury Road.

The owner of the laundromat reported a cash box with undetermined contents missing, but there were no signs of forced entry. The incident was reported Saturday Aug. 6.

From the period of July 27 through Aug. 8, the Wilton Police Department responded to three calls for domestic verbal disputes and two incidents of family violence. Police served one person with violation of a protective order related to family violence.
