Police Log: DUIs and larceny


A 52-year-old Norwalk woman was charged with driving under the influence and failure to obey a control signal Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. on Route 7 at Grumman Hill Road.

Police said Joanne Chochos, of 42 Esquire Road, Norwalk, appeared to be impaired after being stopped and was given a urine test back at police headquarters. She was given the test, which she failed, after refusing a breath test.

She was released on $250 bond with a court date of Sept. 29.


A 30-year-old Northford man was charged with sixth-degree larceny Sep. 19 in connection with the theft of $300 worth of copper building materials at Miller-Driscoll School.

Police said Kyle Langan, of 40 Meadowlark Lane, Northford, turned himself in for the theft that occurred in August, but denied he stole the copper. He was working for a contractor on the site at the time and was reported stealing by another worker.

He was released on $500 bond with a court date of Sept. 29.

Underage DUI

A 17-year-old Weston boy was arrested for operating an unregistered dirt bike, driving with no license, no insurance, failure to drive in the proper lane and driving while under the influence on Sept. 17 at 2 a.m. on Danbury Road.

Police said the teen was the subject of a traffic stop, and was found to be underage. He was released on $260 bond to his parents and given a court date of Sept. 29.

The Wilton Police Department responded on Sept. 17 to a family violence call, and two related calls over the next couple of days at the same address.
