DUI John T. Corona, 58, of Danbury, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on Thursday, Nov. 22, after Wilton police received a call around 12:23 p.m. that the Chevy Cruze he was driving was erratic going southbound on Danbury Road in Georgetown. Wilton police located Corona’s vehicle and stopped him in the area of Pimpewaug Road. Upon making contact with Corona, officers smelled an odor of alcohol on him. After failing field sobriety tests, Corona was placed under arrest and taken to Wilton police headquarters for processing. His breath test resulted in a 0.2026 BAC. Corona was released on a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 3. Pursuit A Wilton police officer was led on a pursuit southbound on Danbury Road on Sunday, Nov. 24, by the driver of a 2015 Buick Lacrosse. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding, the driver sped up and refused to pull over. Once the officer got the vehicle plate, the pursuit was broken off due to traffic and potential danger to the public. The incident is still under investigation. The Wilton Police Department responded to two domestic violence calls between Nov. 20 and Nov. 26.
