Failure to obey stop sign A Wilton woman was ticketed for failing to obey a stop sign Sept. 12 after an accident with minor injuries on Route 7 at Catalpa Road. The woman, driving a 2015 Ford Explorer, was cited in the crash after her vehicle pulled onto Route 7 from Catalpa Road, failing to obey a stop sign. She struck a 2015 Nissan Rogue driven by a 17-yearold. A 16-year-old was a passenger in the Nissan. Both teens were taken to Norwalk Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Evading an officer A 21-year-old Danbury man was arrested on a warrant Sept. 11 at 5:08 p.m. in connection with an incident over the summer in which he used his motorcycle to evade an officer who had tried to pull him over. The officer got the license plate and traced it to Melvin Rodriguez, of 60 Mill Ridge Road, Danbury, who was charged with reckless operation, reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer and misuse of plates. He was held on $5,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 12. Assault on public safety personnel An 18-year-old Stamford man turned himself in on a warrant Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. for assault on public safety personnel, sale of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jack Duffy, of 49 Cider Mill Road, Stamford, was found last month to be under the influence of a controlled substance in a driveway at 45 Seir Hill Road. In the process of trying to get Duffy into an ambulance, he allegedly spat on three public safety personnel. The substance was Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, police said. He was held on $10,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 20. Operating under the influence A 40-year-old New York man was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs Sept. 8 at 6:12 a.m. after being found asleep in his car on Danbury Road near Whitewood Lane. Gregory Sullivan, of 1126 Joselson Avenue, Bay Shore, N.Y., was very disoriented when police tried to wake him from where he was parked partially in the right northbound lane on Danbury Road. He was charged after attempting to perform standard field sobriety tests. He was released on $260 bond with a court date of Sept. 19. Shoplifting A 34-year-old Weston woman turned herself in Sept. 7 on a warrant for sixth-degree larceny in connection with a shoplifting incident at CVS July 15, She allegedly stole $2,500 worth of over-the-counter medicine, including Crest White Strips, with two other individuals. Nicole Yost, of 33 Georgetown Road, Weston, was processed at court the same day. Further arrests from out-of-state are expected, police said. Wanted man nabbed A 22-year-old wanted Trumbull man was arrested in Wilton after being pulled over at the Gulf station at 287 Danbury Road on a complaint of erratic driving. Robert Rubino, of 14 Mohawk Drive, Trumbull, was released on $65,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 19. He had warrants for two separate violations of probation out of Trumbull in connection with a 2014 arrest for burglary, larceny and forgery. The Wilton Police Department responded to one call of domestic violence and three calls for domestic verbal incidents during the week Sept. 6 through Sept. 12.
