Around 4 in the afternoon of Jan. 8, a pedestrian attempting to cross Route 7 was hit by a car and catapulted 25 feet across the road, Wilton police said.

The pedestrian entered the roadway to cross it near Honey Hill Road and was struck by a southbound 2001 BMW X5. His body landed in the northbound lane with non-life-threatening rib and leg injuries, police said.

The pedestrian was evaluated by Wilton EMS and taken to Norwalk Hospital. At this time, no charges have been filed against either party, as the investigation of the accident remains ongoing.
