Norwalk man arrested with LSD, marijuana

Jonathan Marte, 19, of 94 Washington Street, Norwalk was arrested May 28 for possession of drugs and driving unlicensed.

Police said Marte was stopped around 8 p.m. near Kent Road for driving 45 mph on Old Belden Hill Road, which is a 25 mph zone.

Marte did not have a driver’s license and instead presented a Connecticut adult learner’s permit. Also, his car was missing a rear license plate.

The officer smelled marijuana in the car and searched it, finding a tab of suspected LSD in the center console and two bags of suspected marijuana “hidden under the gear shift mechanism of the center console.” The total weight of the marijuana was 1.168 ounces, police said.

Marte was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, driving with one plate, traveling too fast, and driving without a license over the age of 18.

He was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court June 6.
