No plates, no insurance and no real address

On July 18, at 9:41 p.m., a vehicle was stopped for traveling too fast — 49 mph in a 35 mph zone — northbound on Danbury Road.
Police ran the license plate and discovered it belonged to a black Audi station wagon, not to the driver’s white 2004 Pontiac Sunfire.
The driver, Sharun Neelakantam, gave the address 39 Apollo Road, Bethel, though he is not a resident of the United States and offered no proof of long-term residence at that address, according to police.
In addition to misuse of plates, Neelakantam was charged with driving without insurance and traveling too fast.
He was given a bond of $250, which a friend came and posted for him.
He is scheduled to appear at the Norwalk Superior Court on July 28.
