Motorcyclist killed on Route 7

UPDATE: Aug. 3, 2:45 p.m. — Police have released the name of the motorcyclist killed in an accident on Route 7 Sunday evening. She was Susan Tolliver, 53, of 16 Remington Street, Stamford.
According to the police report issued this afternoon, she was traveling south on Route 7 around 7:11, when her 2003 Buell Firebolt XB9R left the west side of the road, striking the curb in front of 141 Danbury Road. She was ejected from the motorcycle as it traveled across three lanes of Route 7.
She was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where she later died.
The accident is still under investigation.
This is the first fatal accident in Wilton since January 2014 when a 66-year-old Wilton man died of injuries sustained when his car collided with a tree on Old Ridgefield Road. Just a month earlier, on  Dec. 26, 2013, a Norwalk man was killed in a two-car accident on Westport Road.
Two fatal accidents occurred on Route 7 in the summer of 2011. The first occurred on Aug. 9, 2011 when a 71-year-old Texas woman was killed when the car in which she was riding collided with a dump truck in the vicinity of Zion’s Hill Church.
A few days later, on Aug. 11, a 71-year-old Norwalk man was killed when his car crossed the center line and struck a Mack dump truck in the vicinity of 991 Danbury Road.
Aug. 3, 10:36 a.m. — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening, Aug. 2, just after 7, on Danbury Road near Wilton Hills, which is just south of the intersection of Westport Road.
According to Lt. Stephen Brennan of the Wilton police, it was a single-vehicle accident involving only the motorcycle. There were no other injuries.
Brennan said because the investigation is still open, no further details were available.
