Metro-North: Service delayed at Cannondale due to a car on the tracks
UPDATED 9:57 a.m., Dec. 10: Around 10 p.m. last night, a car driving on south on Mather Road struck a stone wall, rolled onto its hood, and came to rest on Metro-North Danbury line tracks near Cannondale station, police said in a report released this morning.
The accident caused Danbury line service to halt for approximately one hour, and caused residual 25- to 35- minute delays, according to Metro-North.
Joseph Milazzo, 24, of 5 Mather Road, was the driver of the car that delayed service temporarily. After the accident, he was brought to Norwalk Hospital for medical treatment.
This morning's police report indicates charges are pending in relation to the accident.
12:33 a.m.: According to the Metro North official twitter feed, the company's Danbury branch service was delayed at Cannondale Station last night due to "police activity."
From approximately 10 - 11:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, trains running through Cannondale Station were stopped from proceeding, according to Metro North.
Wilton police have confirmed that a reportable event occurred at Cannondale Train Station last night, but had not released a news report as of 12:33 a.m.
