Man who lives on Weed Avenue cited for pot possession

A man who lives on Weed Avenue in Norwalk was cited for possession of marijuana on Sunday.

According to police, a 34-year-old Norwalk resident was cited for possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana on Sunday, April 26 after police saw him sitting in a car in a closed park around 1 a.m.

According to police, the Weed Avenue resident was sitting in a car at Aspetuck Land Preserve, on Newtown Turnpike, with a woman after hours. When police stopped to speak with both parties, an officer detected the odor of marijuana and asked about the smell.

The Norwalk resident admitted he was in possession of marijuana and surrendered less than a half-ounce of marijuana and three glass smoking pipes.

He was issued a $150 citation and allowed to leave the property.
