Natividad Ruano-Grijalva, 37, of Danbury, was arrested by Wilton police for driving under the influence on Tuesday, May 5, at 3 a.m. During that arrest, police learned Ruano-Grijalva was also wanted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) to be deported.
He was pulled over based on a report from a Wilton police officer leaving a shift at work that he was driving “all over the road.”
A marked police cruiser pulled the Guatemalan national over, and found him to be under the influence of alcohol.
He refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test, and was arrested for driving under the influence. Afterward, police found Ruano-Grijalva had been arrested for a DUI in Wilton in 2014, and in New York state in 2009.
They delivered the man to Norwalk Superior Court, where ICE will pick him up for deportation.
