Wilton police report that James Benjamin, 51, of 868 Oldfield Road in Fairfield, turned himself in on an arrest warrant on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The warrant was issued following his involvement in a physical altercation, which took place the night of Oct. 10 at a party in Wilton. According to police, Benjamin exchanged verbal threats with a male guest, who was his ex-wife’s boyfriend. The verbal exchange escalated to a physical altercation, causing several people to intervene to separate the two. Police said the boyfriend sustained injuries for which he sought treatment at Norwalk Hospital Emergency Room.
Benjamin was charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct. He posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Nov. 19.
